When Hovey Energy was founded in 2012, the commercial energy market was fragmented and difficult for businesses to navigate. Most companies had no clear way to compare suppliers, verify pricing, or ensure they were getting competitive rates.

We built Hovey Energy to change that — combining long-standing supplier relationships, a disciplined quality assurance process, and a in-house call center to give commercial businesses the infrastructure they need to make smart energy decisions.

2012
Hovey Energy Founded
Robert Hovey and Melissa Hovey establish Hovey Energy in Illinois with a focus on commercial electricity procurement in deregulated markets. First supplier relationships formed with major energy providers.
2014
Texas Market Entry
Hovey Energy enters the ERCOT (Texas) market — the largest deregulated electricity market in the United States. Texas becomes the company's primary and most active market.
2016
Partner Program Launch
Hovey Energy launches its independent partner program, enabling in-house energy agents to access supplier relationships and back-office infrastructure through the platform.
2018
22-Checkpoint QA System Implemented
Corey Sinkuler joins as Partner and VP of Sales. The company formalizes its 22-checkpoint enrollment verification system — the quality assurance process that drives the 8% net clawback rate.
